SEO
SEO helps your pages show up well in search results and when links are shared.
How to open it
Choose SEO in the Go live group of the nav rail, then choose the Website at the top.
What you can do here
- See the big picture. Pages at a glance lists each page with its Score and the number of Issues. What would lift the score most points at the quickest wins.
- Edit a page's SEO. Choose Edit SEO on a page. Under Search result set the Search title, Description, Focus keyphrase and Keywords.
- Control indexing. Under Search engines you can switch Show this page in search results off (Google drops the page and it leaves the sitemap) or stop search engines following its links. Leave these on unless you have a reason.
- Set the main address. Main address (canonical) is for when the same page lives at two addresses. Leave it empty if the page is its own main address.
- Shape shared links. Under When the link is shared, set the Share title, Share description and Share image (1200×630).
- Check rich results. The panel shows what search engines could read from the page.
- Use the sitemap. XML Sitemap has Open sitemap and Copy URL, to give to Google Search Console.
Note
Members-only pages are never shown to search engines, whatever you set.
Where to go next
Analytics shows whether the changes bring visitors.
