The page builder

The builder is where you design a page: you see the page as visitors will, and click anything to change it.

How to open it

In Projects, choose Edit on a page. The builder takes over the window; the back button at the top left returns you to your pages.

The layout

  • Top bar. The back button, the page title and its address, Design and AI mode, undo and redo, the device sizes (desktop, tablet, phone), a preview eye, the save status, and Publish.
  • Left side. Three tabs: Pages (switch to another page of the project), Layers (the page as a tree of sections and parts) and Theme (quick colour and font changes).
  • Right side. Three tabs for the selected item: Design (layout, spacing, colour, effects), Content (the text, image or link) and Settings.
  • Middle. The canvas, with a zoom control at the bottom.

What you can do here

  1. Select and change. Click a section or an item on the canvas, then edit it on the right.
  2. Edit text in place. Double-click text on the canvas and type; a small toolbar appears for bold, italic, links and headings.
  3. Add things. Use the add buttons in the top bar to insert sections, elements, shapes and text. Whole sections also come from the Library.
  4. Check other screens. Switch the device size to see the tablet and phone layouts.
  5. Preview. Use the eye to see the page without the editing tools.
  6. Go live. Choose Publish when you are happy.

Saving

The builder saves by itself a couple of seconds after you stop typing, and the top bar shows Saved once it has. Saving only keeps your draft; visitors see the change when you publish.

Note

Made a mistake? Use undo (Ctrl or ⌘ + Z) and redo in the top bar.

Where to go next

Theme for site-wide look, Publish to go live.
