Forms
Forms collects enquiries, bookings and feedback. Visitors fill in a form on your site; the answers land in the form's inbox, and can be emailed to you.
How to open it
Choose Forms in the Content group of the nav rail. Each row shows the number of Responses and the Last response.
Make a form
- Choose New form. Pick a template, or Blank form.
- Give it a Form name (visitors see it as the heading) and choose its Website. Choose Create form.
The editor tabs
Questions. Add and arrange questions with Add a question, then click one to edit its label, placeholder, options, width and whether it is required. Besides short and long text, choices and dates there are:
- File upload, for attachments. Common file types up to 10 MB are accepted; others are refused with a clear message.
- Recommend score, a 0 to 10 scale.
- Face rating, five faces from sad to happy.
- Choice cards, tiles to pick from.
Each question has an Answer key, used in emails and when saving records.
Emails. Under Tell your team, choose who gets an email for each response, or a morning summary, and use Send me a test. You can route to different people by an answer. Thank-you email to the visitor replies automatically; it needs an Email question on the form.
Settings. Choose where the form appears (Copy link, Put it on your website), what happens After someone sends the form (a message or another page), and whether to Also save responses as records. Send responses to other apps posts each response to an address starting with https://; Send a test checks it. Spam check adds a simple sum question for visitors. Delete this form removes it; its responses stay in the inbox.
Responses. The inbox. Open a response to read it and see whether it reached other apps. Deleting a response asks if you want to keep the saved record and delete only the inbox entry.
From the forms list
The ⋯ menu on each form offers Edit questions, Email settings, Open form, Copy link, Embed code (paste it into any other website), Make a copy and Delete.
Common questions
What is the red "Can't save responses" tag? The form saves answers as a record, but it has no question for something that record requires. Add those questions, or choose Don't create records. Visitors cannot send the form until it is fixed.
I get no emails. Email sending must be set up on the site. The Emails tab says when it is not.
Do bots fill my form? A hidden trap quietly drops them; they see "thank you" but nothing is stored.
Where to go next
Analytics can count form goals; The page builder places a form on a page.
